The Ten Most Popular Book Boyfriends According to BookTok

Everyone knows there are some pretty nice fictional men out there, especially on BookTok. Being an avid BookToker myself, I see my fair share of videos regarding these lovely men. There are absolutely, positively more than the ten listed here, but in no particular order, here are some of the most popular book boyfriends according to BookTok.

#1: Azriel, from A Court of Mist and Furyย by Sarah J Maas

Personally, this is one of the ones I hear most often, and I honestly cannot blame them for loving the Shadowsinger so much. Heโ€™s a hunk of a man, not to mention heโ€™s got the whole โ€œmysterious, quietโ€ vibe going on. There is also that argument of biggest wingspan as wellโ€ฆ

#2: Darius, from The Zodiac Academy Series,ย by The Twisted Sisters

Alright BookTokers, donโ€™t come for me, but I am only on the second book of the Zodiac Academy series. I KNOW, I KNOW. But life is chaotic and there arenโ€™t ever enough hours in the day. But what I do know, even from my brief encounter so far with Darius, is that this man is a classic bad boy heart throb, and I cannot WAIT to see more of him.

#3: Rhysand, also from A Court of Mist and Fury,ย by Sarah J Maas

Okay, how can you not love the High Lord and ruler of the Night Court? Sarah J Maas really knows how to write her men, and thatโ€™s why sheโ€™s taken up four spots on this list. When you get down to #6 on this list, that man was at the top of my list for the longest time until Rhys came along. Maybe itโ€™s the purple eyesโ€ฆ I dunno guys, something about him is just so incredibly dreamy.

#4: Hunt Athalar, from Crescent City,ย by Sarah J Maas

Hunt is the newest addition to my own personal list of book boyfriends, as I just recently read Crescent City earlier this year, but oh my lanta, this man is FINE. We also cannot forget about his killer personality and his secret soft side. All of the women in the books written by Sarah J Maas are truly winning out here.

#5: Aaron Warner, fromย Shatter Me,ย by Tahereh Mafiย

Remember earlier when I said donโ€™t come for me for not having read the entire Zodiac Academy series? Now you REALLY cannot be mad at me because I havenโ€™t read the Shatter me series. I KNOW AND Iโ€™M SORRY GUYS! But I am happy to announce I impulse bought the box set at 4am when it was on sale so donโ€™t you worry, itโ€™s on my TBR, taunting me to be read. But regardless, Iโ€™m looking forward to meeting this man that BookTok is incredibly fond of.

#6: Rowan Whitethorn, from Heir of Fire,ย by Sarah J Maas

When I got back into reading last year, Throne of Glass was the first fantasy series besides Harry Potter (I had to do a reread if I was getting back into reading obviously) that I got into. I read a ton when I was in middle and high school, but when I began my college journey, I stopped being able to read as much, which broke my heart. Iโ€™m so happy to be able to read more today, and Throne of Glass was the perfect thing to get me back into it. I donโ€™t know what it is for the silver hair love interests, but something just draws me to them.

#7: Tobias King, from The Finish Line,ย by Kate Stewartย

Okay, so this man is NOT from a fantasy novel, but what I can tell you is this Frenchman is fine as wine. The Ravenhood Trilogy by Kate Stewart has stolen the hearts and souls of many readers, and among the three men in the series (Sean, whoโ€™s my personal favorite, Dominic, a very close second behind Tobias, and the Frenchman himself), Tobias seems to be the most popular. And I mean who can blame them? If you havenโ€™t read this series, go do it now! I canโ€™t tell you why Tobias is amazing without giving away some of the plot and I refuse to recommend anyone go into this series without being completely blind.

#8: Casteel, from From Blood and Ash,ย by Jennifer L Armentrout

I am probably really, really irritating you readers today, but I havenโ€™t read From Blood and Ash, either. I donโ€™t think I can apologize enough for slacking on some of these reads, but I SWEAR, theyโ€™re on my TBR and sitting very patiently staring at me on my shelves. Out of the fantasy book boyfriends on this list, I see Casteel take the crown for favorite among all of them in several videos I have seen. So honestly, I really need to get to reading FBAA to see what all the hype is about and why this man beats my other favorites.

#9: Kaz Brekker, from Six of Crows,ย by Leigh Bardugoย

Alright, no surprise here, I havenโ€™t read this series either, BUT I HAVE seen some of the Netflix show, which got me into wanting to read the series in the first place. (This was before I was super heavy into BookTok and the series was blowing up due to the show). But I have seen this man on screen, and I have to tell you, Iโ€™m intrigued to read the series and learn more.

#10: Atlas, from It Ends with Us,ย by Colleen Hooverย

Did you guys really think I would let you get away with not hearing about a book boyfriend a Colleen Hoover book? HA, never. Colleen really knows how to write the perfect book boyfriends, and on my personal list itโ€™s so hard to pick a favorite, but all of booktok can honestly agree that Atlas is one of their top, if not favorite book boyfriends. He is literally a gem, and I love him immensely. I cannot wait to see more of him in It Starts with Us. (P.S. they just finished the script for the It Ends with Us movie, and I cannot wait to see who they cast as the characters, and I canโ€™t wait to watch it!)

Bonus Round: Oliver Freaking Masters, from the Stay with Me Trilogy, by Nicole Fiorina

I could NOT do a BookTok boyfriend list without naming my absolute favorite romance book boyfriend. If you havenโ€™t read the Stay with Me Trilogy by Nicole Fiorina, you are SERIOUSLY missing out on a truly amazing man. She wrote Ollieโ€™s character so raw and real, not to mention heโ€™s absolutely gorgeous, sensitive, and has a condition where he feels emotions very strongly. I had the pleasure of meeting Nicole at the BRAE event in Columbus Ohio this year, and I cannot tell you how much sheโ€™s already changed my life. Sheโ€™s a phenomenal and underrated author, and everyone needs to go check her out ASAP.
