Dear readers, boo ?
I have been asking myself how to make a Halloween post because my reading genre is romance, not thrillers. So I thought about some dark romance recommendations for this season?
I used to be a big fan of dark romance. Nowadays, however, I don’t read them that much. I admit something is intriguing about them that gets us hooked.
The following books might not be spooky, but they have the perfect heavy atmosphere fitting for Halloween. What do you think?
Before picking one up, always read the first pages or reviews for possible triggers.
Master Of Salt and Bones by Keri Lake
- Age Gap
- Retelling (crossover of Beauty and the Beast with The Phantom of Opera)
“Together, we are madness. And there is music in madness, and madness in love.
Scarred by Emily McIntire
- Retelling (Lion King but Scar is the protagonist)
“If something happens, know that I will find you in every lifetime, Sara Beatreaux. You are mine, and not even death can keep you from me.”
Haunting Adeline by H. D. Carlton
“Let me know which stars you prefer. The ones above you, or the ones I make you see.”
Verity by Colleen Hoover
- Family Secrets
“Find what you love and let it kill you.”
The Isle of Sin & Shadows by Keri Lake
- Hate to Love
- Age Gap
“What the hell is love, anyway? Fleeting moments of adoration smothered in pain and disappointment.”
Have you read any of these? Hopefully, you will give them a chance and read them instead of going out for the trick-and-treat… The perfect Halloween night for any reader.
Oh, and since we are in the spirit, let me give you a treat and tell you what my next post might be about… Single Dad recommendations or Fall romances? Mhm, you have to wait to find out.
See you next time!
